Religious School Class Services 2022

Religious School

Adath's Learning Center Goals

We welcome each child as a divine spark, with guided journeys through Torah, holidays, stories, Hebrew/prayers, & social action. Masterful teachers foster growth mindsets & nurture relationships in our indoor & outdoor classrooms, through hands-on experiences & technology. Students connect with community, the Jewish people, Israel & humanity (the world.) Our students grow to make informed & intentional Jewish choices in moving forward with meaning & intention.

Torah and Sacred Texts

Students learn our shared stories, understand & bridge ancient to present & future, finding themselves in Torah.

Hebrew

Hebrew connects us to Torah, Prayer, Israel & Jewish peoplehood. Learning prayers helps us grow our best selves & open pathways to meaning & purpose

Shabbat

Learn about traditional/contemporary observances. Classes prepare to lead Shabbat programming.

Holidays

Build understanding of historical & spiritual celebrations in rhythm with Torah & the seasons, l'dor vador (keeping tradition alive from generation to generation)

Israel

Our Rishon (teen emissary from Israel) leads students on virtual sightseeing tours around Israel while sharing the complexities; ancient & modern, the cultural diversity, latest wonders in science, technology, medicine, agriculture & dining!

Life Cycle

Judaism celebrates life, beginning with birth we commemorate benchmarks up to & including death. Students learn to view these moments with gratitude & appreciation.

Tikkun Olam

The essence of Judaism is about deeds of compassion, caring & kindness. Our Day of Chesed is a student led, community wide gathering to support organizations with missions to educate & support people, animals and the environment, locally and in Israel. During this pandemic year, we are actively supporting neighbors through Nourishnj. We are especially proud of Religious School families' monthly commitment to provide Breakfast Bags for families in need. We also continue to support initiatives in our other home, Israel.

Family Education Days

Grades K-7, each share a morning of learning together. Programs bring families & children together to grow. In this pandemic year, monthly activity bags offer enrichment and family engagement.

Bar/Bat Mitzvah

Students are guided individually during the process of preparing to become a member of the commanded community.
