Notes from Cantor Avima

     If I had to pick the two most popular Chanukkah songs in the US, I am sure it would be "Oh Chanukkah, Oh Chanukkah" and, of course "I have a Little Dreidel". But, how many times can you sing that dreidel song? Well it turns out that some clever, creative folks have written some fun new verses... My brother shared these with me and now I share them with you: 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of sand, but when I tried to spin it, it crumbled in my hand! 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of air, but when I tried to spin it, it simply wasn't there! 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of mud, and when I tried to spin it, it stained my mother's rug.. 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of chocolate, but when I went to spin it, it melted in my pocket. 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of light, but for some strange reason, it only works at night. 

I have a little dreidel, I made it in my mind, my imaginary dreidel is very hard to find. 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of gefilte fish, my mother served it for shabbat, but it spun right off the dish! 

And, this final one is for adults only! 

I have a little dreidel, I made it out of pot, but when it started spinning, I just sat and stared alot!!
