On March 14, 2024, the Cantors Assembly is launching a virtual concert series, Kol Yisrael (”Voice of Israel”) featuring contemporary Israeli musician artists presenting their music. With the current situation in Israel, most professional Israeli musicians have suffered a particular blow to their livelihood, on top of the national and personal trauma every Israeli is experiencing. Performances, tours, and students have been canceled and disappeared. The most successful and talented musicians are those who do not have “day jobs” but rely on their art for their livelihood.

With the goal to highlight Israeli musicians and their art, Cantors Assembly is unveiling a 3-part series with select Israeli artists including a 45-minute virtual (Zoom-based) concert followed by an in depth interview by Cantor Rachel Brook and Cantor Arianne Brown. Cantors Assembly is showcasing Israeli artists for a deeper understanding of who they are as human beings, Israeli citizens, and musicians during this moment of conflict.

This series is a unique connection between the Cantors Assembly and Israeli musicians. We are providing the chance to help simply by supporting and enjoying a concert series, giving Israeli musicians the platform to perform, as well as expressing what it means to make music at this time.”
