"Sliding into Home"

Chevre, (Friends),

It’s been a tumultuous few weeks and anxiety is high. Our emotions are real and our concerns legitimate. Still, I am filled with hope for our country, for our state, and for our community. When every minute is billed as “Breaking News”, I want to remind you that being on alert all day long, every day, is detrimental to your physical, spiritual, and mental health. Please take time to unplug, to breathe fresh air, to be in the sunshine, and to really hear your loved ones’ voices, even if it’s on the phone and not in person! Please take time to rest your mind, please take time to refresh your soul.

For some of you, that may be in a daily prayer practice. For others, it may be a meditative walk around the neighborhood. Remember, when you’re running around those bases, that you’re supposed to “slide into home” when you get to home base. Here is a meditation you may access even if you are not “on” FaceBook.

Ready for “A Shot of Hope”? I know I am! Here’s the latest episode of my podcast, “Conversations with Cantor Lois”. Rabbi Margaret Frisch Klein shares her Shehechiyanu blessing for receiving a vaccine! I hope you’ll be able to recite this blessing sooner than later!! The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple podcasts, Google podcasts, and at Anchor.fm.

Wishing you all good health, strength, peace, and love!

With many thanks to The Creator for helping us to stay connected with each other!

Love, Cantor Lois
